FIMUCITÉ presents its 20th anniversary in Rome and strengthens its role as an international ambassador for film music

- The Tenerife International Film Music Festival presents its upcoming edition at the 5th Rome Film Music Festival.
- FIMUCITÉ’s founder and director, Diego Navarro, will take part on Thursday 19 March in a discussion with Marco Patrignani, director of the Italian festival, and Agata Grabowiecka, Artistic Director of the Kraków Film Music Festival.

As part of its 20th anniversary, making it the longest-running event of its kind in the world, The Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), added a new international stop to its agenda: the 5th edition of the Rome Film Music Festival (Roma FMF) that runs from 16th - 22th March. The festival is produced by Forum Studios and the Orchestra Italiana del Cinema under the direction of its founder, Marco Patrignani.

FIMUCITÉ and the island of Tenerife will be screening the official trailer of the FIMUCITÉ festival at this distinguished Italian event to promote the festival and the celebration of two decades of its history. The promo tour takes us to two of the Roma FMF’s principal venues: the Forum Theatre and the Auditorium Conciliazione. This initiative further strengthens the international visibility of the FIMUCITÉ festival and its close connection to its home territory of Tenerife.

The Rome Film Music Festival programme will once again offer Film Music Talks, masterclasses curated by specialists Massimo Privitera and Marco Patrignan that are dedicated to screen music. FIMUCITÉ’s founder and director, composer and conductor Diego Navarro, will participate in the masterclass being held on 19th March, participating in a discussion on film music alongside Patrignani (Roma FMF) and Agata Grabowiecka, Artistic Director of the Kraków Film Music Festival (FMF).

FIMUCITÉ maintains close and sustained collaborative ties with two international events: the Rome Film Music Festival and the Kraków Film Music Festival. This networking has contributed to positioning Tenerife as a leading reference point and strategic destination for major music events linked to the seventh art. The festival’s presence in Rome further consolidates its international profile from the early half of a particularly significant year, a year in which FIMUCITÉ will be celebrating its twentieth edition. From 3rd - 19th July, 2026 the festival will deliver a programme that will once again transform the island into a global hub for film music.

Participation in international events such as Roma FMF reinforces FIMUCITÉ’s role as a global ambassador for film music. It serves to foster dialogue between creators, programmers and specialist audiences, while strengthening cultural ties between Tenerife and Italy. In doing so, the festival continues to expand its network of partnerships and its impact well beyond the Canary Islands, and serves to promote Tenerife as a destination of cultural and tourism excellence.

Institutional Suppor
The Tenerife International Film Music Festival will be marking its 20th anniversary in style with the support of its main sponsor, Turismo de Tenerife under the Cabildo de Tenerife, and additional support from the island’s Department of Culture. The festival is also sponsored by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council and the Canary Islands Institute for Cultural Development of the Government of the Canary Islands. FIMUCITÉ extends its gratitude to the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra (OST), the Auditorio de Tenerife, and its many public and private partners for their continued support.
