Choirmaster

Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Juan Ramón Vinagre Delgado completed his musical training as a guitar teacher and choral conductor. Since 1989, he has been a member of the faculty at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where he works as a choir teacher. Alongside his teaching activity, he has delivered specialist training courses for educators and served on juries for composition and performance competitions.

Until 1992, he was director of the Villa de la Orotava Polyphonic Choir. He also assumed the role of conductor for the ensemble Orfeón La Paz de La Laguna, gaining widespread recognition through national and international concert tours, as well as numerous awards at choral competitions. Ramón regularly collaborates with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, and has served as choir master in numerous opera seasons organised by Ópera Tenerife, participating in productions such as The Barber of Seville, Tosca, L’Italiana in Algeri, Così fan tutte, Rigoletto, La Fille du Régiment, Werther, Turandot, Carmen, La Bohème, The Little Chimney Sweep, and Hänsel and Gretel. He is currently the director of the Tenerife Film Choir, the official choir of the Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ).

In April 2012, he won first prize in the youth category of the choral competition XLII Certamen Coral de Ejea de los Caballeros in Zaragoza with the Children's Choir of the Professional Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In 2014, the choir achieved an outstanding result at the 60th Torrevieja International Habanera and Polyphony Competition. In 2016, he conducted the choral recordings for Enrique Gato’s animated film Capture The Flag, produced by Telecinco, followed in 2017 by Pasaje al amanecer, directed by Andreu Castro, with music composed by Diego Navarro.

After being awarded both First Prize and the People's Choice Award at the XLVIII Certamen Coral de Ejea de los Caballeros in April 2019, the choir went on to participate in the XXII Gran Premio Nacional de Canto Coral in San Vicente de la Barquera in July 2022. Further appearances at the Gran Premio Nacional followed in 2023 in Burgos and in 2024 in Ejea de los Caballeros, on both occasions achieving second place. The choir is scheduled to participate again in July 2025 in San Vicente de la Barquera.
