Camerata Lacunensis
Founded in 1993 within the University of La Laguna, Camerata Lacunensis, conducted by Jose Herrero, is dedicated to promoting vocal music in the Canary Islands. It is internationally renowned both for its technical and interpretative quality and for its ability to move and connect with a wide range of audiences.
It is one of the most award-winning choirs in the archipelago, with over thirty national and international awards to its name. Its versatility enables it to perform sacred and popular repertoire ranging from the 16th century to the present day, and it is also a leading choice for the world premieres of choral works. As a result, it has performed on numerous stages across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Camerata Lacunensis has been selected to take part in the Champions’ Competition at the World Choral Games, the world’s largest international choral competition, which will be held in Sweden in August 2026.
