Italy and the great italian film composers to star in the next edition of Fimucité

- After the success if their 18th edition, the Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife, FIMUCITÉ, has started preparing for 2025.

In July 2025, the Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ), the oldest event of this genre in the world, founded and directed by composer and conductor Diego Navarro, will celebrate an epic edition, which will aim to surpass even the recently-closed eighteenth edition.

Italy and film, through great soundtracks associated with its history, culture and traditions, as well as its brilliant filmmakers and composers, will be the centrepiece of a repertoire that will delight film lovers. A programme developed in collaboration with the Roma Film Music Festival, directed by Marco Patrignani, general director of the legendary Forum Studios where over 3,000 soundtracks have been recorded.

The music of composers such as Ennio Morricone (1928-2020), who wrote over 500 soundtracks, including 'The Mission', 'Cinema Paradiso' or 'The Untouchables'; Nino Rota (1911-1979), remembered for his collaborations with Federico Fellini, which gave us the scores for 'La Dolce Vita', '8½' or 'Amarcord', and composer of the music for 'The Godfather', by Francis Ford Coppola; or Nicola Piovani (1946-), Oscar winner for 'Life is Beautiful', are some of the creators who will be heard in next year's concerts.

In addition, the music of major productions such as 'Gladiator', by Ridley Scott, with its Oscar-nominated soundtrack by Hans Zimmer (1957-), or 'Novecento', the great epic by Bernardo Bertolucci, composed by Morricone, will transport the public to key moments in the history of the Mediterranean country and to emblematic locations, such as the magnificent Roman Colosseum.

The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ), the oldest in the world dedicated to soundtracks and music for the screen, is directed by composer and conductor Diego Navarro, and has as its main sponsor Cabildo de Tenerife and Turismo de Tenerife, the government of Canarias via Turismo de Canarias and the Instituto Canario de Desarollo Cultural, along with the councils of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Cristóbal de La Laguna. In addition, FIMUCITÉ would like to thank the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and the Auditorio de Tenerife for their implication, and the special collaboration of Fundación Disa, Emmasa, Fundación SGAE, Fundación CajaCanarias, the Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera, Domingo Alonso and AUDI, as the official Festival car, and Fundación Diario de Avisos, the Grupo Plató del Atlántico and Televisión Canaria as main media partners.
