This Saturday, the Pop Culture Band offers the show ‘Don’t Stop Believing!’ at the Teatro Guimerá de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a trip through iconic songs from musicals and musical biopics.

Within the framework of the Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ), which, until July 20th, is celebrating its 18th edition with the support of the Cabildo de Tenerife as the main sponsor and Turismo de Tenerife, the Gobierno de Canarias via Turismo de Canarias and the Instituto Canario de Desarrollo Cultural and the town councils of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Cristóbal de La Laguna, two spectacular concerts dedicated to musicals will take place this weekend.

This Friday, at 8:30 p.m., the Teatro Leal in La Laguna offers 'Fimucité Cabaret', an exciting show by the band Atelier de Musique, made up of seven musicians led by extraordinary saxophonist Kike Perdomo, alongside The Vintage Experience, a trio of brilliant singers specialized in retro repertoire. The historic cultural space will recreate the most authentic atmosphere of a classic Cabaret with a repertoire of songs from legendary musical films such as 'Moulin Rouge!', 'Chicago', 'Burlesque' and, of course, 'Cabaret', among other hits. Arrangements made for the occasion by Kike Perdomo will be premiered and the public is called to attend in their best period clothes to live an immersive experience that will take them back to the hectic decades of the 1920s and 1930s.

This Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Teatro Guimerá in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Pop Culture Band, the festival's resident pop rock formation since 2014, made up of 15 members with the musical direction and arrangements of the composer Gonzalo de Araoz, premieres a new original show. Under the banner 'Don't Stop Believing!', the program covers songs from iconic musicals and biopics of legendary musicians and bands such as 'Fame', 'Grease', 'Mamma Mía', 'Rocketman', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'La Bamba', 'Yesterday', 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' and other essential titles.

Tickets for both recitals have been sold out for weeks, confirming the loyalty of the public, as well as the love for the soundtracks and the different proposals that attract spectators from all over the world to enjoy FIMUCITÉ.

Next week, the Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife will continue on July 16th, 17th and 18th at the Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with the celebration of the Fimucité Film Scoring Academy program. The round tables and master classes will feature such notable speakers as 'La La Land' soundtrack composer Justin Hurwitz, winner of two Oscars, four Golden Globes, three Critics' Choice Awards, two Grammys and a BAFTA; or Andy Hill, dean and director of studies at the Film Scoring Academy of Europe in Sofia, Bulgaria. Attendance is free of charge and can be validated by an academic credit of your choice, upon registration on the website www.fimucite.com.
