The Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ) travels this February for the first time to Gran Canaria. The sensational artist Esther Ovejero and a group of outstanding musicians from the islands will be performing “All about Almodovar” show at the Guiniguada Theatre. The concert, first premiered last September at FIMUCITÉ’s eleventh edition, will also be making its way to Poland, within their 2018 program.

Ovejero’s exceptional voice, charisma and a touching mise-en-scène will make the audience travel through a selection of the greatest songs from the filmic universe of Spanish director, Pedro Almodovar. Music has played a leading role in its filmography, from “Volver”, written by Carlos Gardel and sang by Estrella Morente, to “A year of love” bolero that Luz Casal performed for “High heels”, Sara Montiel’s version of “Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps” from “Bad education” to “Paid so well”. Esther Ovejero will be joined on stage, both at the Guiniguada in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and at the Muzeum Inżynierii Miejskiej in Krakow, by José Carlos Perdomo (double bass), Roberto Amor (drums), Patricio José de León (guitar) and David Quevedo (piano). Renowned stylist Berta Makowsky is in charge of the stage props and costumes of the show.

The great reception of “All about Almodovar”, a FIMUCITÉ original show directed by the Canarian composer and conductor Diego Navarro, has lead to its programming in other venues.

Tickets for the concert at the Guiniguada Theatre, scheduled for Sunday, February 25th at 7:30 pm., are already on sale at the box office at a price of 15 euros. They can also be purchased through www.entrees.es. Canarias Crea Canarias collaborated providing artists transfers within the Canary Islands.
