The Tenerife International Film Music Festival will celebrate a new edition in September 2018 (21st - 29th).
The Tenerife Auditorium will host the European Première of a spectacular live-to-picture concert: “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”.
A selection of film classics related to "Alien Encounters" will be played at the Festival’s Closing Night Gala, performed by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra.
Tickets for the symphonic concerts within the Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), which will celebrate its twelfth edition between September 21st and 29th, thanks to the sponsorship of Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, the Canary Islands Government, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna councils are already available. Those interested in a season ticket for both symphonic dates will enjoy a 5 euros discount and a deluxe edition of “Back in time…1985 At the movies” released by Varése Sarabande. This wonderful present includes six CDs of the best film music from 1985. This offer is only available for the first 70 buyers.
On Friday, September 28th, at 8:00 pm, Auditorio de Tenerife will host a spectacular live-to-picture concert conducted by the Festival Artistic Director, renowned composer and conductor Diego Navarro. The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Tenerife Film Choir and the Children’s Choir of Santa Cruz Music Conservatory will perform John William’s legendary score for "Close Encounters of the Third Kind” (1978). Steven Spielberg's masterpiece, which won eight Oscars nominations including Best Music, can be enjoyed for the first time, since it will be the European Première of this unique live experience of both seeing the movie screened on the big screen and listening to the music performed live simultaneously. Moreover, this will also be the first symphonic live-to-picture concert to take place in the Canary Islands.
Tickets for this concert will be available to buy through Internet in www.auditoriodetenerife.com as well as in the Auditorium box office. These tickets range from 20 to 35 euros.
FIMUCITÉ 12 Closing Night Gala, entitled “The truth is out there” as a tribute to the popular TV series “The X-Files”, will be held on September 29th at 7:00 pm, at Auditorio de Tenerife. Exciting scores from the UFO sighting and aliens invasions subgenre will be played at this concert. Soundtracks from movies such as “Mars Attack” (1996, composed by Danny Elfman), “Contact” (1997, Alan Silvestri), “Abyss”(1989, Alan Silvestri), “Starman” (1989, Jack Nietzche), “The thing” (1982, Ennio Morricone) or even “The X-Files” (1993, Mark Snow) will be part of the repertoire.
Closing night gala tickets range from 26 to 38 euros.
