The Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ) is thrilled to announce the Spanish premiere of the world-renowned soundtrack of the video game ‘The Witcher 3’ as part of its 11th programme. This offering will form part of the concert ‘Warriors from the Silver Screen’ (Guerreros de la Gran Pantalla) that will be held in Teatro Guimerá in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on September 28th. Attending as a special guest will be co-composer, Marcin Przybylowicz.
FIMUCITÉ is able to bring you this event thanks to the collaboration of Polish video game developer & publisher CD PROJEKT RED and the Krakow Film Music Festival (FMF). The close ties shared between these have led to a fruitful exchange of ideas that strive to foster musical talent in the audiovisual sector. In its 9th edition, the FMF wowed its audience with a concert dedicated to ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’. Its exceptional music was composed by Polish composers Marcin Przybylowicz, Mikolaj Stroinski and Piotr Musial.
The highlight of the FIMUCITÉ concert will be a unique version of ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ suite that has been especially prepared for the event by co-composer Marcin Przybylowicz. His work will be performed by the FIMUCITÉ Youth Orchestra, which includes students from the Higher Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands and the Professional Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The programme will be rounded off with a selection of the best music from Hollywood epics, such as ‘Ben-Hur’, ‘El Cid’, ‘Quo Vadis’, ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Braveheart’, amongst others, in partnership with the prestigious music label, Tadlow Music.
The concert will be conducted by José Antonio Cubas. Two performances will be offered on Thursday September 28th, a morning performance for schools and an evening performance at 20:00 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased from the box office of the Teatro Guimerá or online at TomaTicket.es.
Przybylowicz will also be one of the professors working in the second edition of FIMUCITÉ Film Scoring Academy and will offer a master class that is aimed at students and professionals who are interested in specialised training. This class, as with all other activities in the FIMUCITÉ Academy programme, is completely free of charge and is run the same week as the festival in the main building of the Professional Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
FIMUCITÉ XI, which is organised by the well-known conductor and composer from Tenerife, Diego Navarro, runs from September 22nd – 30th, 2017 thanks to the support and sponsorship of the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Canary Islands Government, Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, Arona City Council, and La Laguna City Council.
