Sinfonietta Cracovia

Sinfonietta Cracovia

Combining the precision and flexibility of a chamber orchestra with successful performances of symphonic works, the Sinfonietta Cracovia is particularly appreciated for its performances of contemporary music. It has been involved in numerous productions promoting new music and the works of Polish composers. It is especially famous for its interpretations of works by Krzysztof Penderecki, with whom it has had an important artistic bond from the very beginning. It has been intensively engaged in concert tours, also abroad – performing in such countries as China, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Czechia, and Austria. The orchestra was managed for 20 years by Robert Kabara, a violinist, violist, and educator, and in 2014 the role was taken over by Jurek Dybał, a conductor, double bass player of the Vienna Philharmonic and animateur of cultural life. As of 2021 it has been headed by Agata Grabowiecka, a manager of culture and a producer of cultural events.
