- The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife has broken its own records, having sold all tickets for the concerts programmed at Teatro Leal, Teatro Guimerá and Auditorio de Tenerife, weeks before the events themselves.
- Thursday, the 18th of July will see a free open-air concert dedicated to the musical genre, as performed by the Banda Municipal de Música de Santa Cruz.
The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ), which celebrates its 18th edition from July 5th to 20th, has hung the “sold out” sign on all scheduled concerts: the original musical-based productions 'FIMUCITÉ Cabaret' (Teatro Leal), 'Don't Stop Believing' by the Pop Culture Band (Teatro Guimerá) and the symphonic 'La La Land Live-to-Picture' and 'A Million Dreams' (Auditorio de Tenerife).
In this way, FIMUCITÉ has broken its own record for advance ticket sales, cementing the trust and loyalty of the public, as well as their love for soundtracks and the different offers that attract spectators from all over the world to enjoy the concerts and parallel activities of the oldest festival in the world dedicated to soundtracks and music for the screen.
In the words of the director and founder of FIMUCITÉ, composer and conductor Diego Navarro: “We could not be happier or prouder. This year, in which we come of age, we have managed to sell out all of our productions, a historical milestone in the festival, since it is the first time that this has happened so far in advance. "We are immensely happy with the public's support and we hope that this year the festival can make true a million dreams, as per the title of our closing concert”.
Outdoor Musicals
Those who have not obtained tickets have the opportunity to enjoy FIMUCITÉ in the free concert that will take place on Thursday, July 18th in the Plaza del Príncipe in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, starting at 8:00 p.m. The Banda Municipal de Música de Santa Cruz, the oldest in Spain, directed by Juan Antonio Domínguez Martín, along with a selection of solo voices, will offer a wonderful selection of musical film scores.
The first part of the program will be dedicated to the legendary Broadway musical 'West Side Story', which was adapted to film in 1961 by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins and again six decades later by Steven Spielberg. The recital will then continue with a journey through different musicals, with iconic songs such as 'And All That Jazz' ('Chicago'), 'I Dreamed a Dream' ('Les Miserables'), 'Shadowland' ('The Lion King') and 'Come What May' ('Moulin Rouge'), among others.
The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ), of global importance in its genre, has as its main sponsor Cabildo de Tenerife and Turismo de Tenerife along with the Ayuntamientos de Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Cristóbal de La Laguna and Gobierno de Canarias.
