Canary island festivals Isla Calavera and Fimucité sign a collaboration agreement

- FIMUCITÉ celebrates its 18th anniversary from July 5th to 20th.

The Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ) have reached a collaboration agreement through which they commit to join forces in specific activities to promote the programming of each other's events and to offer proposals of common interest to their respective audiences.

This agreement has been signed by the co-directors of the Isla Calavera Festival, Daniel Fumero and Ramón González Trujillo, and by Diego Navarro, director and founder of FIMUCITÉ, at Multicines Tenerife, headquarters of the film festival, that will celebrate its eighth edition from November 8th to 17th. The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife is currently finalizing preparations for its eighteenth installment, which will take place from July 5th to 20th with a splendid program of concerts and parallel activities, dedicated to the musical genre.

“For almost two decades, FIMUCITÉ has been highlighting music for audiovisual media, often with fantasy at the center of its programming,” says Daniel Fumero. "The stars have finally aligned for our two festivals to find a common place for collaboration”.

Diego Navarro, composer and orchestra director specialized in film music scoring, said about this agreement: “The highest-grossing films in the history of cinema belong to the fantasy genre and their scores have been a fundamental part of their success.” “It is precisely this popularity of the genre, together with the rapid recognition of Isla Calavera in the international cultural sphere, that makes it an essential event”. "Since both festivals have international status, each communication will see its impact expanded not only among the local public, but also beyond our borders".

“We are building the foundations of a solid promotion network whose main asset is recommending to the public the quality of both events.” “It is a natural union between two sister festivals”, points Ramón González Trujillo.
