The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ) will, in this, its 15th anniversary, celebrate a new edition of FIMUCITÉ Film Scoring Academy (FFSA), the FIMUCITÉ academy for audiovisual composers, in which our speakers will be guest conductor Eímear Noone, renowned Spanish composers Darío Palomo, Xavier Capellas and Daniel Trujillo and film critic specialised in music Conrado Xalabarder.

Coordinated by Pedro J. Mérida, Academia FIMUCITÉ this year offers three days of masterclasses geared towards students and professional musicians interested in music creation for audiovisual media as a professional alternative. This is one of the most eagerly anticipated parallel activities of the Festival, which thrives each year in its commitment to specialist training in this field.

The inscription period for these training activities, which are free and will take place on the 20th, 24th and 25th of September in Sala de Cámara del Teatro Leal, in La Laguna, closes on the 20th of September. Those who attend, who can find the inscription form on the Festival website (www.fimucite.com) will receive a diploma crediting their participation. All sessions, for which places are limited, will begin at 11:00am and will last approximately 2 hours.

Eímear Noone, one of the most reputable videogame composers and conductors in the world, returns to the Film Scoring Academy, with a course on one of the highest-rising subjects in the world of audiovisual music. On Monday, the 20th of September, with her masterclass “Play the Game: The Sound Narrative of Music in Videogames”, Eímear Noone will offer the keys for score creators to forge a path for themselves in a field ever more open to innovation and original ideas. In addition to this, the renowned Irish composer and orchestra conductor will get on stage this Friday in the Teatro Leal to conduct our opening concert ‘Electric Arcade – A VGM History’, an original programme devoted to music composed for videogames.

Television, advertising and the symphonic and electroacoustic genres will be up for debate in a conversation that will cover the mechanisms through which a composer can face an audiovisual commission with views to adding value to the project.

The programme will conclude on Saturday, the 25th of September with speech “Know the Past to Face the Future”, by Conrado Xalabarder, who will offer a historical analysis of the evolution of the narrative discourse of music in the audiovisual field.
