- Guest conductor Eímear Noone promises a unique event as she leads both a chamber orchestra and a rock combo.
The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ) opens the doors to its 15th edition this 17th of September, in Teatro Leal de La Laguna, with the concert ‘Electric Arcade – A VGM History’, an original programme devoted to music composed for video games, for which we have the pleasure of welcoming renowned Irish composer conductor Eímear Noone at the helm.
The tickets for this event, which will begin at 8:30pm, are already on sale at the Teatro Leal box office and online at www.entradasatualcance.com. Tickets cost 15 euros.
The repertoire will include scores from classics such as ‘Tetris’ or ‘Castlevania’ and hits such as ‘Halo’, ‘Fortnite’ or ‘Zelda’, all arranged by prolific musical producer and Emmy-nominated composer Craig Stuart Garfinkle. There will also be performances of the music from best-selling games such as ‘Assasin’s Creed’.
Eímear Noone, who returns to FIMUCITÉ after her participation in the 2017 edition with the concert ‘Espada y Brujería: Crónicas Sinfónicas de una Era Legendaria’, in which she conducted the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, will, on this occasion, display a magnificent mise en scene as she conducts both a chamber orchestra and a rock combo. Noone lives in Malibú, California and divides her time between conducting live performances and composing music for film, television, advertising and videogames, on works such as ‘World of Warcraft’ and her award-winning score for the ‘Warlords of Draenor’ expansion. Also, in 2020, she became the first woman ever to conduct the orchestra at the Academy Awards ceremony.
FIMUCITÉ celebrates its 15th edition with the support of Cabildo de Tenerife, Gobierno de Canarias, Ayuntamiento de San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Ayuntamiento de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Auditorio de Tenerife and Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, as well as Fundación “la Caixa”, Fundación Disa and Fundación SGAE.
