The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife is celebrating its 15th Anniversary from the 17th to the 26th of September, and part of the celebrations will include, for the 4th year running, the Spanish Audiovisual Music Awards ceremony, held by the Asociación de Compositores de Música para Audiovisual (Musimagen). This event, which will include performances of the winning scores by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, will take place in the Auditorio de Tenerife on Friday, September 24th, before the “Once Upon Ennio Morricone: A Tribute to his Film Music” concert.

The winners of the 4th Spanish Audiovisual Music Awards, sponsored by Fundación SGAE, have just been announced by Musimagen. The winners of Best Original Orchestral Score are Koldo Uriarte and Bingen Mendizábal, composers of the score for the film ‘Baby’, by Juanma Bajo Ulloa. The award for Best Original Electroacoustic Score goes to Darío Palomo, for his work on the documentary ‘Emilio Herrera’. The award for Best Original TV Series Score will be presented to Sergio Jiménez Lacima, for ‘El Desafío: ETA’. Finally, in the category Best Original Score for Advertising, the award will go to Daniel Trujillo, for ‘Allianz’.

The members of Musimagen, comprised of over 200 professionals in the sector, were called upon to vote for their favorite works from 2020. The rules for the Spanish Audiovisual Music Awards, established in 2018 to celebrate the work of Spanish creators, forbid composers from voting for themselves, in order to obtain total fairness.

The awards ceremony will include a performance of a suite dedicated to the winning scores, conducted by renowned composer and conductor Diego Navarro, director of FIMUCITÉ.

FIMUCITÉ will celebrate its 15th Anniversary with the support of Cabildo de Tenerife, Gobierno de Canarias, Ayuntamiento de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Ayuntamiento de San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Auditorio de Tenerife and Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, as well as Fundación “la Caixa”, Fundación Disa and Domingo Alonso Group.
