Amano Manish receives the Alex North Award for Best Original Score for the feature film “Rebellious Flower”.
FIMUCINEMA, the official competition of the XI Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), successfully selected the winners of the fifth edition of the competition that was celebrated from 23 - 28 September 2017. The jury, comprised of composer Richard Bellis (President of the Jury), music producer James Fitzpatrick (Tadlow Music), technical director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Miguel Ángel Parera Salvà, and film director Cándido Pérez de Armas, selected the following winners:
Alex North Award for Best Original Score in the category of feature films:
Amano Manish for the film "Rebellious Flower".
FIMUCINEMA Award for Best Original Score in the category of documentaries:
Mina Petric for the documentary "The Last Ice Hunters".
FIMUCINEMA Award for Best Original Score in the category of short films:
Nami Melumad for the short film “Luminaries”.
FIMUCINEMA Award for Best Original Song:
Josué Vergara for “Sonríe”.
The announcements and award ceremony took place during the concert ‘Stephen King’s Night Gallery’, which marked the Closing Gala of FIMUCITÉ XI. The event took place in the Auditorio de Tenerife under the baton of the composer, conductor and artistic director of the festival, Diego Navarro. Jury members handed out awards to the winners who were invited to the Auditorio that evening.
In the words of the coordinator of FIMUCINEMA, Manuel Díaz Noda, “it has been a particularly tough year for judges and we have seen entries from all across the world. This is seen reflected in the award winners, with works from India, Slovenia, the United States, and Spain. The common denominator amongst all of them has been the exceptional quality of musical work.”
