New acclaimed guests will join the 11th Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ). Thus, the award winning Irish composer and conductor Eímear Noone, and the renowned composers Daniel Pemberton, from the United Kingdom; Atli Örvarsson, from Iceland; and Craig Stuart Garfinkle, from the United States of America, will attend the festival. The event will be held from September 22nd to 30th, 2017, thanks to the sponsorship of Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, the Canary Islands Government, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Arona City Councils.

Eímear Noone will conduct the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife at the concert 'Sword & Sorcery: Symphonic Chronicles of a Legendary Era', which will be held at the venue Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín on September 29th. Last year, the festival paid tribute, posthumously, to Shirley Walker -considered to be the first woman in making a name for herself as composer in Hollywood-, Lolita Ritmanis became the first female guest conductor at FIMUCITÉ and she expressed the joy of being the first one, hoping many others will take the helm. Regarding this, the Festival, directed by Tenerife renowned musician Diego Navarro, keeps its commitment to give visibility to female musicians in audiovisual industry by inviting Noone. The composer is well-known for her music for video games such as 'World of Warcraft', and she is currently the conductor who has premiered the highest amount of symphonic works for video games.

Composers Daniel Pemberton and Atli Örvarsson will also participate in this never to be forgotten concert at FIMUCITÉ. Pemberton will world premiere his music for the latest Guy Ritchie’s film, 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword', which will be released in May. Örvarsson will present his suite for 'Season of the Witch' (2011), film starring Nicolas Cage.

The programme will include the performance of some genre classics, which celebrate their 35th anniversary in 2017, such as 'Conan the Barbarian', composed by Basil Poledouris; 'The Beastmaster', by Lee Holdridge; 'Cromwell', by David Whitaker; and 'The Dark Crystal' by Trevor Jones, who, as announced in the presentation of FIMUCITÉ XI, will also attend the festival in Tenerife.

Additionally, Craig Stuart Garfinkle will lecture at Fimucité Film Scoring Academy, the Fimucité Academy for Audiovisual Composers, a training initiative which started in 2016 within the parallel activities programme of the festival. Craig Stuart Garfinkle, who has been nominated for the Emmy awards, has a prolific career as music producer and composer for feature films and documentaries, television, trailers, multimedia contents, spots, live shows and video games. The music producer and composer will focus his masterclass on his experience in composing music for video games.
