“Star Wars, A New Hope In Concert”
The Tenerife International Film Music Festival, FIMUCITÉ, celebrates its 20th anniversary in style.
The Force arrives to Tenerife with Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert, a spectacular production that combines cinema and live symphonic music, screening the original 1977 film in English with Spanish subtitles, accompanied by a live performance of the Oscar®-winning score composed by John Williams.
Since its premiere over forty-five years ago, Star Wars has transformed the history of cinema, captivating generations with its epic storytelling, unforgettable characters and iconic music. Now, fans can relive the magic of this beloved classic in an immersive symphonic experience that merges the greatness of the film with the power of a live orchestra.
In the film that started the legacy, young Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) begins his heroic journey when, searching for a lost droid on the desert planet Tatooine, he meets Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness). Together with the brave pilot Han Solo (Harrison Ford), the courageous Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and the iconic droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, Luke embarks on a daring mission to defeat the evil Galactic Empire and destroy its ultimate weapon: the Death Star.
The legendary John Williams, composer of all nine Star Wars scores, won the Oscar® for this first film, establishing a musical legacy that continues to inspire audiences and musicians around the world.
To conduct the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra we welcome back the exceptional Eímear Noone, a brilliant Irish composer and maestra, the first female conductor to perform at the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony. Additionally, she was also chosen by Nintendo to conduct the 25th Anniversary recording of The Legend of Zelda series, which set industry records for soundtrack sales.
