Eímear Noone is a Los Angeles/Dublin-based conductor and award-winning Irish composer. She is notably acclaimed for her extensive work composing for film and video games; as one of the world’s premier composers of video games scores, Eímear is responsible for some of the most enduring soundscapes on World of Warcraft and other best-selling video games.
Through her work on World of Warcraft, Eímear’s music has reached over a 100 million people, inspiring players to invent and build new worlds now for over twenty years. Her composition portfolio of over thirty film and video game titles has received multiple industry accolades, including the ‘Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Video Game Score.’
In the last few years, Eímear has devised music for animated features such as Niko Northern Lights, Chantal, Channel 5’s Maxine, and the 2023 comedy The Canterville Ghost based on the short story by Oscar Wilde. Having composed the score for Two by Two: Overboard, which topped the UK Box Office in October 2020, earning her an Ivor Novello nomination for ‘Best Original Film Score’, Noone remains working on other various global film, TV, animation and game soundtrack projects.
Along with her creative partner Craig Stuart Garfinkle, the duo has recently worked on delivering a new score contribution for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, with the game expecting release October 2025.
Noone has also worked on film scores for directors such as Gus Van Sant and Joe Dante, orchestrating for Oscar nominee Javier Navarrette (composer of Pan’s Labyrinth) creating haunting music for thrillers such as Mirrors and The Hole.
Alongside composing, Eímear conducts orchestras worldwide, including the San Francisco Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra amongst others.
Eímear made history by becoming the first female conductor to perform at the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony. Additionally, she was also chosen by Nintendo to conduct the first ever 3D filming of a game score, specifically for the 25th Anniversary recording of The Legend of Zelda series, which set industry records for soundtrack sales, and has recorded game scores for Sony Interactive.
Beyond these projects, Eímear is constantly innovating new orchestral shows and concepts to expand the boundaries of her repertoire. In 2023 she premiered a completely original show, Daughters of the Pirate Queen: The Spirit of Grace O’Malley, as part of Ireland’s International Women’s Day Celebration that year. Selling out the National Concert Hall of Ireland, and attended by President Michael D. Higgins himself, the show synthesised the work of some of Ireland’s most exciting female performers and songwriters to tell the story of Grainne Mhaol, a legendary pirate queen, whose story was felt to have gone untold for far too long.
