This saturday, FIMUCITÉ is holding concerts in Tenerife and El Hierro

- La Banda Municipal de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife will perform classic Italian film scores, such as "Life is Beautiful," "The Godfather," and "Cinema Paradiso," in Plaza del Príncipe in Tenerife's capital. 
- The "Percussionists of the Big Screen" recital will take place at the Cine de Frontera, featuring an ensemble comprised of students in this field from the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. 

This Saturday, June 14th, the Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ) is holding, as part of their 19th Edition, concerts  on the islands of Tenerife and El Hierro. Both offer free admission. The Banda Municipal de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife will dazzle in the ‘De Fellini a Tornatore: La música del cine italiano’ concert, in Plaza del Príncipe in Santa Cruz, while, at Cine de Frontera the performance of  ‘Percussionists of the Big Screen’, from a group of percussion students from the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. 

Under the baton of Juan Antonio Domínguez Martín, on Saturday at 7:00 p.m., the Banda Municipal de Música, with an impressive 123-year historical legacy, will offer a concert dedicated to the theme of this year's FIMUCITÉ, "Italy, its History and Culture," offering an ideal plan for families to enjoy outdoors. The program includes signature works from the Italian cinematic repertoire, written by such renowned composers as Ennio Morricone (Cinema Paradiso, A Fistful of Dollars, The Mission), Nicola Piovani (Life is Beautiful), and Nino Rota (The Godfather, Amarcord).

The concert by the percussion group of the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, conducted by Emilio Díaz, will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Cine de Frontera. The program, which is part of FIMUCITÉ's training and educational activities, will feature soundtracks from popular films such as "Mission: Impossible," "Aladdin," the "Indiana Jones" saga, and other great classics of film music. "Percussionists of the Big Screen" offers an interactive and fun game to engage younger audiences, with Moisés Évora de la Rosa as narrator. The ensemble is made up of students Guillermo Almeida, Aruna Beuster, Aday Bravo, Camila Brito, Nestor Garcia, Oscar Garcia, Alberto Hernandez, Miguel Mira, Gabriel Velez, Ethan Aricoma, Emilio Diaz, Jorge Mira, Guillermo Monreal, Romarey Cabrera (piano) and Lamberto David Torres Colmenares (violin).

The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife, FIMUCITÉ, of worldwide renown in its genre, created and directed by composer and conductor Diego Navarro, will hold its nineteenth edition between the 7th of June and the 12th of July 2025, with the support of the Cabildo de Tenerife and Turismo de Tenerife as its main sponsors, Gobierno de Canarias via Instituto Canario de Desarollo Cultural, the city councils of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Cristóbal de La Laguna, and the Organismo Autónomo de Actividades Musicales de La Laguna. FIMUCITÉ also thanks the involvement of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and the Auditorio de Tenerife, and other public and private partners, including Mutua Tinerfeña, Distrito Centro-Ifara of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, Fundación DISA, Emmasa, Domingo Alonso, and AUDI as the official festival car, Fundación SGAE and Fundación CajaCanarias.
