In this edition of FIMUCITÉ, dedicated to Italy and the great Italian soundtrack composers, we pay tribute to the history and culture of Ancient Rome with an unforgettable show. The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will perform live the acclaimed soundtrack of Gladiator while the film is screened in its original version (English) with Spanish subtitles. The official choir of the festival, the Tenerife Film Choir, under the direction of Juan Ramón Vinagre, will join this performance, which will also feature the voices of the Coro Contemporáneo de Tenerife (directed by Esther Wagenaar) and the Coro EnArmonía (directed by Miriam Luz Fumero Morales and Esther Wagenaar).

This unique experience celebrates the 25th anniversary of a mythical title in the history of cinema, transporting us to the epic story of the gladiators, marked by the spirit of Forza e Onore (Strength and Honor), paying tribute to the legends of Rome and the cultural richness of Italy, cradle of civilizations and source of artistic inspiration.

Maximus, one of the Roman army's most trusted generals, falls victim to traffickers and ends up becoming a slave to fight in the Colosseum. He is determined to take revenge on Commodus, regain his dignity, avenge his family and win freedom for his people.

On Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12, FIMUCITÉ will once again screen a film while its soundtrack is performed again, perfectly synchronized with the images, dialogues and sound effects of the film.This format, which to date has only produced FIMUCITÉ in the Canary Islands, was inaugurated in 2018 with Encounters in the Third Phase and Javier Sierra as presenter and star guest. In 2019 it revived Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, in co-production with Krakow's FMF, an allied film music festival, and in the last edition of 2024 it returned with La La Land, under the baton of double Oscar-winning composer Justin Hurwitz.
