Coro Contemporáneo de Tenerife

The Coro Contemporáneo de Tenerife (currently under the direction of Esther Wagenaar, singer, graduate in Choral Conducting and teacher at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife) has been developing an intense artistic work since its creation in 2009, on the occasion of the premiere of the Misa de Conmemoración, by the composer Emilio Coello. In its trajectory, this choral group has performed several monographic, a cappella programmes and choral symphonic repertoire with which it has toured numerous stages on the island and nationally, also participating in exhibitions and competitions.

It is worth mentioning its participation in the concert series of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Víctor Pablo Pérez in the Tenerife Auditorium, the Cathedral of La Laguna and various churches on the island, with works such as The Messiah (Handel), Davide Penitente (Mozart), Requiem (Fauré) and Requiem (Mozart).

The versatility of this formation to tackle programmes, from baroque repertoire to contemporary works, has recently allowed it to have guest conductors such as Emilio Coello, with works of his own creation and premiere by the choir such as "Angelus Domini" (Soloists, Choir and Orchestra), as well as the conductor José María Vicente, professor of Orchestra Conducting at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias, with works from the baroque and classical repertoire.
