Orquesta Filarmónica de Tenerife

The Tenerife Philharmonic Orchestra (OFT) is an initiative of ACADIM that was born at the beginning of 2018 with the purpose of offering continuity to the young talents that culminate their passage through the Tenerife Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. Although most of its members come from this pool, the orchestra is open to musicians with proven experience and quality, regardless of their origin.

Composed of around 60 musicians, mainly between 18 and 35 years old, the OFT prioritises musical excellence. Each member has passed a rigorous selection process and a level test conducted by the orchestra's director. The main objective of the OFT is to democratise symphonic music in the Canary Islands, making it accessible to children, young people and families, regardless of their place of residence.

The orchestra is based in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and is conducted by José Antonio Cubas Delgado, Professor of Trombone at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. Versatility is one of the OFT's hallmarks. Its repertoire ranges from classical music and Canarian folklore to film soundtracks, orchestral pop music, opera and zarzuela.
