Tenerife Film Choir

Formación Artística | Fimucité

The Tenerife Film Choir has been the resident choir of the Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ) from its foundation in 2007 to the present day. This outstanding choral formation, established by the composer and director of the festival, Diego Navarro, and the soprano and choirmaster Cristina Farrais, is made up of a select group of 40 voices (ten per string), chosen from among the best talents of the Tenerife choral scene, although the number of members can be adjusted according to the requirements of each project.

The choir is currently conducted by maestro Juan Ramón, born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where he completed his musical studies as a guitar teacher and choir conductor. Since 1989, he has been a choir teacher at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

With the Coro de Voces Blancas del Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Juan Ramón won important awards, including first prize at the Certamen Coral de Ejea de los Caballeros in 2012. The Tenerife Film Choir, under his direction, has starred in and performed a large number of world premieres of symphonic-choral scores of outstanding soundtracks at FIMUCITÉ, including the official concerts of the centenary of Universal Pictures and Dreamworks Animation, consolidating itself as an essential element of great artistic quality at FIMUCITÉ.
