If there is anything that defines Luis Ivars as a composer and performer, it is his eclecticism. After his classic academic training as a composer, he explored different styles such as pop, blues, rock, jazz, ethnic, or electronic music. During twenty years he has gone on tour as keyboardist at national and international level before working in the cinema business in the late 90 ́s. Since then, he has composed more than eighty soundtracks for films, documentaries, shorts, video dance, TV series and drama as Tiempos de Azúcar, La Dama Boba, Capitán Trueno y el Santo Grial. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhX_O818Oek), Parecido a un Asesinato or 22 Ángeles, among others. He has been nominated three times to the Goya awards for best song (2015, 2016 & 2017).

At the same time, he has developed activities for the promotion, editing and dissemination of music with various initiatives such as artistic production of film concerts, recording of discs or editing a collection of film suites for live broadcast in orchestras and bands to promote the composers.

Luis Ivars, is the Honorary Chairman of Musimagen - the Spanish Association for Audiovisual Composers. He has also held the presidency of FFACE, being one of their founders. He has participated actively in the foundation and development of ECSA, being Honorary Vicepresident. He has been member of the board of directors of the Spanish Film Academy. He has being collaborative with the CIAM, specially across the Screen Composers WG and the International Fair Trade Music initiative. Since 2019, he has presided over the Audiovisual Alliance, the largest Spanish federation that represents audiovisual professionals and technicians.
