Privitera

Massimo Privitera is the director and founder of the film music web magazine www.colonnesonore.net. He worked as a promoter, in copyright and as an editor from the 1990s to the mid-2000s for Mediaset. He is director of short films and TV programmes and author for several TV productions for Mediaset and Rai.

In 2003, he founded the magazine Colonne Sonore - Immagini tra le note, the first and only Italian magazine on film music. The 'Colonne Sonore' Prize, which he created, has awarded prizes to composers of the calibre of John Williams, Howard Shore, Ennio Morricone, Alexandre Desplat. He co-presents with Marco Testoni the web programme Soundtrack City on music for cinema and with Daniela Bocconi Vis a Vis - Tra Mente e Immagine on Cinema, series and Psychoanalysis. He is co-author with Federico Biella of the book Quando cantavano le colt - Enciclopedia cinemusicale del western all'italiana published by Casa Musicale Eco di Monza, author of Game of Scores - Le migliori colonne sonore tv degli anni Duemila for Bietti Fotogrammi, collection by Ilaria Floreano, of the commemorative volume of the 20th anniversary of his magazine "Colonne Sonore - Immagini tra le Note" and co-author with Andrea Natale of the book Operazione Underscore - Il mondo delle colonne sonore di James Bond published by Bluebelldisc. He writes and has written reviews and articles dedicated to soundtracks for the magazines Audioreview and Billboard Italia. He teaches several courses on music applied to images and his online course, with Testoni, on CineArteMusica.
