Oteiza
Gorka Oteiza, founder and director of SoundTrackFest, is a key figure in film music journalism and promotion. His interest in soundtracks led him, after graduating in Computer Engineering and studying music, to work on European film music festivals for over a decade. He has collaborated with various media and festivals, writing articles, reviews and conducting interviews, as well as hosting and speaking at conferences on the genre (FIMUCITÉ, Krakow Film Music Festival, Film Music Prague, Festival de Úbeda, Festival de Córdoba, MOSMA, Hollywood in Vienna, SoundTrack_Cologne, World Soundtrack Awards, ISFMF, Gamemusic Poland, Musimagem Brasil, Ciné-Notes, etc.).
His active role in the film music community goes beyond mere reporting. Oteiza has participated as a guest and speaker in panel discussions and conferences at renowned festivals, where he discussed the importance of festivals, the rise of film music concerts and the crucial role of critics in elevating audiovisual music as an art form. His experience led him to be a member of the jury of FIMUCINEMA in 2019 and he currently plays a key role in the organisation of the Seville International Film Music Festival as content director, as well as collaborating with SONAFILM since its origins.
Gorka Oteiza is a reference in the dissemination of music for film through SoundTrackFest and its active participation in festivals and events, both in journalistic coverage and in organising and debating the artistic value of audiovisual music.
