The scores to videogames ‘ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA’ and ‘RAID’ will be premiered at Fimucité. Their composer, Jesper Kyd, a newly invited guest to the festival

- On July 9th, the Paraninfo de la Universidad de La Laguna will hold concert ‘Héroes del Píxel’, dedicated to the music of the BAFTA winning Danish composer.

In the programme of the 17th Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ), which will open its doors on the 30th of June, music composed for videogames will take centre stage via a series of formats, such as concert ‘Héroes del Píxel’, which take place on Sunday 9th of July at 7pm, in the Paraninfo de la Universidad de La Laguna, with the partiipation of acclaimed composer Jesper Kyd.

A winner of a BAFTA Award for his score to acclaimed videogame ‘Hitman: Contracts’, the third in the saga, and nominated on three other occasions for the scores of the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ franchise, Jesper Kyd is currently one of the most lauded compsers in the world, renowned for his experimental approach to scoring music for this format, as well as his work for film and TV.

The composer will visit the Festival and will attend the concert, as performed by the Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de FIMUCITÉ, comprised of students at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias, under the direction of José Antonio Cubas, and, for the first time, in conjunction with the Coro Polifónico de la Universidad de La Laguna.

The programme, which will delight videogame devotees, will include several world premieres, and will not only include Kyd's music for ‘Hitman’ and ‘Assassin’s Creed’, but will also feature standout works such as ‘Raid: Call of the Arbiter’, the original animated series based on the mobile phone game franchise that has amasswed over 1 billion dollars: ‘Raid: Shadow Legends’.

In addition to this, soprano Carmen Acosta, closely linked to the educational project embarked upon by the Joven Orquesta de FIMUCITÉ, will perform as a guest soloist at the ‘Héroes del Píxel’ concert, the tickets for which will go on sale very soon.
