The Spanish Óscar Navarro and the Argentinian Federico Jusid will collect their awards at the concert on September 30th at Auditorio de Tenerife “Adán Martín”.
The Emmy award winner Richard Bellis will give a workshop for young composers as part of the parallel activities program.
The Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), to be held from September 23rd to October 1st, 2016, and sponsored by Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, Canary Islands Government and Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, will be honoured by the presence of guest composers Óscar Navarro and Federico Jusid. They will collect their awards of the 2016 Scoremagacine’s Film Music Critics Awards in the categories of Best National Score and Best National (or currently living) Composer, respectively.
The Spanish Óscar Navarro has been awarded for his work for the Goya Award Winner documentary “Sueños de Sal”, while the Argentinian Federico Jusid has received this recognition due to his scores for the televisíon series “Carlos, Rey Emperador” and “Teresa”, and for the long feature film “Felices 140”.
The programme for the symphonic concert on Friday, September 30th at Auditorio de Tenerife “Adán Martín” will begin with the awards ceremony and the performance by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and the Tenerife Film Choir of a suite of Óscar Navarro and Federico Jusid’s scores, awarded in this twelfth edition of the recognition that each year organises Scoremagacine. The world premiere of the suite for Óscar Navarro’s “Sueños de Sal” will be performed also by the Children’s Choir of the Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, conducted by Juan Ramón Vinagre.
Likewise, the composer Richard Bellis will attend FIMUCITÉ X and give a workshop for young composers on September 30th and October 1st. Bellis has served on the faculty of the University of Southern California in the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program, and in the UCLA Extension’s Film Scoring Certificate program. In 1991, he won an Emmy for the score of the TV series “It”. Attendees will get an official certificate from ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. The workshop program will be provided in short.
FIMUCITÉ X will be held from September 23rd to October 1st, 2016, and the festival will have also the renowned composer for the trilogy of “The Lord of the Rings”, Howard Shore, as guest composer. The Closing Night Gala program will be devoted to this stellar figure.
