Santa Cruz de Tenerife, April 18th, 2016.- The Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), sponsored by Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, Canary Islands Government and Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, legitimates and boosts on its tenth edition the cooperation with the Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with various concerts featuring the popular Warner Bros. animation shows, performed by the Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Band at Guimerá Theatre on September 28th and 29th.

In a cooperation agreement with Krakow FMF, both festivals will be graced with the presence of the renowned composers Michael McCuistion, Lolita Ritmanis and Kristopher Carter, founding members of Dynamic Music Partners. The strong relationship between FIMUCITÉ and FMF started in 2009 and this year has improved with this project in order to promote the passion for film music among young symphonic ensembles.

Emmy Award-winning composers McCuistion, Ritmanis and Carter began their musical careers composing for “Batman: The Animated Series” and “Superman: The Animated Series”. Together they have collectively earned 28 Emmy nominations as well as several Annie Award nominations. Their music from “Superman: The Animated Series”, "Justice League”, “Batman: The Brave and The Bold”, “Batman Beyond”, “Subzero”, "Mystery of the Batwoman" and “Scooby-Doo” will be a part of the evocative program that will be performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory and conducted by the three composers on September 29th. In Krakow, the program will be performed by the FMF Youth Orchestra. In Tenerife, Lolita, Michael and Kristopher will also be presenting a world premiere suite: music from the hit series "Teen Titans."

As orchestrators, Lolita, Michael and Kristopher have worked for many Hollywood composers, such as Michael Kamen, Basil Poledouris, Howard Shore, Mark Snow, Elliot Goldenthal and Shirley Walker, to whom they will pay tribute at the concert on September 28th, performed by the Symphony Band and conducted by José Toledo. The composer and conductor, who passed away in 2006, worked with Danny Elfman in different projects for DC Comics. Twice Emmy Awarded, in 1992 she became the first female composer working in a Hollywood production, John Carpenter’s “Memoirs of an Invisible Man”. Regarding this, the organization of FIMUCITÉ will award Walker, posthumously, with the FIMUCITÉ - Antón García Abril Award. One of Shirley Walker’s longtime principal orchestrators, Larry Rench (who is currently one of Hollywood’s top orchestrators), will be orchestrating as well as coordinating the needed preparations for the music program that will be performed by the wind ensemble.

Michael McCuistion, Lolita Ritmanis and Kristopher Carter will present workshops for students of the Professional Conservatory and a lecture for the general public as part of the parallel activities of the festival on its tenth anniversary.

Tickets for these concerts at Guimerá Theatre will be on sale soon, and tickets for the concert “Space Opera. The Music of Stars”, which includes the most popular themes of the science fiction genre, such as “Star Wars”, “Star Trek”, “Dune”, and “Battlestar Galactica”, are already available.
