- - Marcin Przybylowicz and P.T. Adamczyk, composers of the score to the hit video game, will visit Tenerife to take part in the 16th edition of the Festival, which will take place between the 16th and the 25th of September.
The Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (FIMUCITÉ), directed by renowned com-poser and conductor Diego Navarro, will offer as part of its programme the World Premiere Concert of the celebrated score composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz, P.T. Adamczyk and Paul Leonard-Morgan for the videogame ‘Cyberpunk 2077’, developed and published by CD PROJEKT RED.
Therefore, the symphonic concert programme of the edition of the Festival, which will take place on Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th of September at the Auditorio de Tenerife, will include a suite that combines the stand-out musical pieces of the game, which has been prepared exclusively for FIMUCI-TÉ, in the presence of composers Marcin Przybylowicz and P.T. Adamczyk. In this World Premiere, we will also enjoy the participation of Olga Jankowska, the original singer of the song 'Never Fade Away' from the ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ score, who will perform said popular theme, which has been played almost 12 million times on Spotify.
The Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and the Tenerife Film Choir, conducted by Diego Navarro, will per-form the spectacular score to ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ in the concerts ‘Cyberpunk Remastered (Vol. 1) – Man-ga / Anime’ and ‘Cyberpunk Remastered (Vol. 2) – Soul of the Machine’, whose promising programme also features the music of key cinematic sagas from the world of science-fiction such as ‘Matrix’ or ‘Terminator’, alongside other titles like ‘Total Recall’, ‘Transformers’ or the legendary ‘Blade Runner’ and ‘Tron’, both of which celebrate their 40th anniversary this year. The repertoire also includes Gottfried Huppertz’s score for ‘Metrópolis’ (1927), by the visionary Fritz Lang, considered one of the great films of German Expressionism, and a classic of World Cinema.
‘Cyberpunk 2077’ is an adaptation of role-playing board game ‘Cyberpunk 2020’ and it establishes a world 57 years later in California, in the dystopia of Night City, with fascinating characters, incredible graphics and countless details that refer to cyberpunk culture. The universe of the game features a fic-tional rock group, Samurai, led by singer Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves. The score of the game is over seven and a half hours long, filled with music from many genres, composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz, author of ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ musical score, alongside P.T. Adamczyk and Paul Leonard-Morgan.
Tickets are already on sale for both thematic concerts inspired by “cyberpunk”, a subgenre of science-fiction borne from 80’s noir novels of authors such as William Gibson or Bruce Sterling, and their pro-grammes will include one common section in both recitals, and one exclusive section in each repertoi-re, one focussed on anime, offering up delights such as ‘Akira’ or ‘Ghost in the Shell’, and another more film-oriented, featuring movies where robotics play an important part, such as ‘Robocop’ or ‘Pacific Rim’. The tickets, priced at 30 and 40 euros, can be purchased at the Auditorio de Tenerife website, at the box office or by phone (902 317 327). FIMUCITÉ offers a pack for those who wish to enjoy both concerts with a 10 euro discount.
