García Abril will participate in the concert ‘My Favourite Fears’ / ‘Mis terrores favoritos’ on Friday 27th September. This concert will premiere the score for ‘Tombs of the Blind Dead’ (1972) by Amando de Ossorio. Both Randy Edelman and García Abril will also be participating in the FIMUCITÉ Film Scoring Academy, the academic forum of FIMUCITÉ for audiovisual composers. All activities organised by the academy are free and fall under the educational branch of the festival’s programming. Events are aimed at students and professionals in the sector who want to receive training at the hands of some of the big names in the industry.

The concert ‘Champions of the Silver Screen’, which includes the participation of the composer Vince DiCola whose unforgettable music for ‘Rocky IV’ (1985) is included in the program, will be performed by the FIMUCITÉ Youth Orchestra. This orchestra includes young musicians from the Professional Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Canary Islands Higher Conservatory of Music. As per tradition, this year’s festival also includes a student exchange program between the FIMUCITÉ Symphonic Youth Orchestra and the Krakow Film Music Festival (FMF). As such, young performers from Poland will be joining the FIMUCITÉ Symphonic Youth Orchestra as part of this performance.

The concert ‘My Favourite Fears’ will be covering a wide range of film music from iconic horror films. Participating in the event are composers Harry Manfredini, (‘Friday 13th’), and Christopher Young (‘Hellraiser’), and also conductor Christian Schumann, who will be leading the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and Tenerife Film Choir in this concert.
