The main themes of the 10th Tenerife International Film Music Festival, Howard Shore’s music and the space operas, go hand in hand on the official poster.
The 10th Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), which will be held from September 23rd to October 1st, with the sponsorship of Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, the Canary Islands Government and Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, has released its official spot and poster. The suggestive audiovisual piece for the festival has been directed by Vasni Ramos and reminds of the different renowned film music composers, conductors and other noted guests who have come to the island and who have starred in unforgettable moments in the past ten years. The outdoor pictures for the spot have been ceded by I Love Santa Cruz.
Furthermore, FIMUCITÉ celebrates the participation of the Academy Award winner and author of the scores for “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” trilogies, Howard Shore, dedicating this year’s poster to him. The Closing NIght Gala concert, which will be held on October 1st in Auditorio de Tenerife “Adán Martín”, will run through Shore’s filmography. The Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, conducted by Diego Navarro, the Tenerife Film Choir and the Children’s Choir of the Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will perform pieces of “The Silence of the Lambs”, "Se7en" and “The Aviator”, among other films.
The poster, designed by Guillermo de la Peña López, also pays tribute to the sci-fi cinema and to the space-opera subgenre, which is the main theme of the concert on September 30th. This concert, conducted by Christian Schumann, will pay homage to the music composed by John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Giacchino, Eric Serra, Hans Zimmer and Steven Price for the stories and adventures of the characters of the “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” sagas, as well as for titles such as “The Fifth Element”,“Interstellar” and “Gravity”.
