THE BEYOND (COMPOSER'S CUT)

35 years after the shooting of this horror/thriller masterpiece, Maestro Fabio Frizzi retraces his steps in order to realize one of the boldest projects of his life: a composer's cut.

We are used to having theatrical cuts and director's cuts, but nobody ever dared to conceive and perform a movie version following the musician's point of view. A new score for a cult classic, realized in a more modern way, almost in the Hollywood style, with very few moments of silence but with great respect for its original identity. A true expanded version of itself, realized through renewed skill and mastery with the important ally of 35 years of added proficiency.

This concert, energized by the prog rock strength derived from the orchestration for the Frizzi 2 Fulci band, the seven top performers of the Maestro's F2F band. An iconic past renewed through a modern stylization of itself which can now be experienced as the score performed live to the images of one of the most famous movies shot by this incredible director, Lucio Fulci.

*Due the graphic and explicit violence shown in "The Beyond" that may shock audiences, this concert is classified as not suitable for children.

WARRIORS FROM THE SILVER SCREEN

'Warriors from the Silver Screen' is a concert of epic and exciting film music from some great films with historical settings.

From the days of the Roman Empire with GLADIATOR ,starring Russell Crowe as Maximus, and BEN-HUR with Charlton Heston as the Hebrew Prince, Judah Ben-Hur ;through to Spain in the 9th Century with Charlton Heston as Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar to 11th Century Normandy with Charlton Heston (once again) as the knight Chrysagon de la Creux (THE WAR LORD) defends his land against Frisian attacks; to the rugged Scottish Highlands where James Wallace (Mel Gibson) is struggling against the superior English forces in BRAVEHEART. Another British imperial calamity is the feature of the film ZULU DAWN starring Burt Lancaster and a whole host of the finest British character actors battling the mighty Zulu warriors. THE LAST VALLEY is a shamefully neglected film directed by James Clavell with an outstanding performance by Michael Caine as "The Captain", a German mercenary seeking refuge during the 30 Years War in a hidden valley, an idyllic escape from the ravages of both war and plague sweeping across Europe; it also features one of the finest of all John Barry film scores. TARAS BULBA takes us further into Eastern Europe with a setting in Poland and the Ukraine as Cossack chieftain, Yul Brynner battles not only the Polish army but his turncoat son. The final selection made by Tadlow Music for this concert is for the score the that once and future warrior, KING ARTHUR.

The main element that unites these varied and disparate movies is that the composers signed to each venture were inspired to create some of their most memorable themes and scores: Miklos Rozsa, Hans Zimmer, John Barry, Elmer Bernstein, Franz Waxman and Jerome Moross ... a catalogue of Hollywood greats from different generations of over 60 years of film scoring.

SWORD & SORCERY: SYMPHONIC CHRONICLES OF A LEGENDARY ERA

In 1961, during an epistolary debate between celebrated literary authors Michael Moorcock and Fritz Leiber on how to name the stories written by Robert E. Howard (creator of the mythical Conan The Barbarian), the term ‘Sword and Sorcery’ was used for the first time. The name served as a popular denomination for this type of narration as it accurately describes both the level of civilization framed in such stories as well as the magical and supernatural elements that distinguish it from other genres, such as ‘Epic Fantasy’ or ‘Cape and Sword’.

It was not until the 1980s when the genre, more popular than ever thanks to the comic adaptations of Conan, Kull or Red Sonja, was adapted to the big screen with films such as 'The Lord of The Beasts', 'Trygra: Ice and Fire', 'Cromwell', 'The King of the Barbarians', 'Excalibur' or the adventures of the Cimmerian hero incarnated by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

One of the key elements that would turn these films into unforgettable classics is their spectacular musical scores. Renowned composers such as Basil Poledouris, Lee Holdridge, Trevor Jones, Michael Kamen and Ennio Morricone are all responsible for the creative personality of the Sword and Sorcery genre. All of these titles have captured the public’s imagination through their unforgettable epic symphonic melodies.

Together, the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and the Tenerife Film Choir will take you on an exciting tour through the most unforgettable soundtracks accompanying the heroic deeds from the world of cinema that have made all our senses quiver.

STEPHEN KING'S NIGHT GALLERY

The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, conducted by prestigious Tenerife composer Diego Navarro, will offer us a fascinating tour through the most reworked soundtracks based on the literature masterpieces of one of the most relevant novel authors of our time: the renowned Stephen King.

Stephen King, born in Portland- Maine- in 1947, is known worldwide for being one of the most prolific best sellers in the fantastic literature genre. Titles such as 'Carrie', 'The Shining', 'Misery' or 'IT' are part of a very rich literary universe that has transcended its creator placing him at the cusp of cultural pop references in horror literature.

Across the globe people are familiar with his works, firstly thanks to their availability in many different languages, but also because they have been adapted to the big screen by some of the greatest film directors: leading figures such as Brian De Palma, Stanley Kubrick, David Cronenberg, George A. Romero, John Carpenter, Rob Reiner, Bryan Singer, Lawrence Kasdan or Frank Darabont have used their cinematographic talent and vision to translate King’s literary universe onto the big screen. High profile composers such as Pino Donaggio, Wendy Carlos, Mychael Danna, Philip Glass, Elliot Goldenthal, Marc Shaiman or Thomas Newman, among others, have been responsible for turning the author's imagination into musical emotion.

When it comes to big budget film adaptations of literary works since the 1970s, Stephen King ranks highest amongst authors. 'Stephen King's Night Gallery' is an exclusive concert created by FIMUCITÉ, an event overflowing with world premieres on closing gala night, such as 'ALIEN: The Biomechanical Symphony', 'Centennial of Universal' or 'Lord of the Night: A Gotham Symphony'.
